PEGGY FIELDING'S
NEWSLETTER FOR YOUR OWN BENEFIT Go to the archives and click newsletter on my www.peggyfielding.com website so you can see the drawings and pictures that I hope will appear. It is hard to believe that February is over. Sorry for late! My own fault. SATURDAY NIGHT WEAKNESS I'm just a tiny bit ashamed to admit that I have a secret addiction. I watch "COPS" on FOX, as well as "America's Most Wanted." Saturday after dark is usually a slow time for me so I get my kicks watching police from all over the country take bad guys and girls to jail. I tell myself that I'm learning police procedures. Sometimes the antics of the people they arrest make me laugh and yes, I guess I am learning something. One thing I have learned is DON'T RESIST ARREST. Mostly the policemen and women are unfailingly courteous, (They're on camera so they would be dumber than hell not to be polite!) but their alleged bad folks are not so well mannered in most cases. Frankly, I would be so scared I'd be paralyzed if the police arrested me or just stopped me. I think the old white, silver and black striped hair would be standing straight up on my head. Kinda like the picture here.
Of course, watching "COPS" has taught me how to behave if they stop me but I probably couldn't control my hair...or my bladder. Oh, well, before long you people will know all my secrets. TIME FOR CLASS I've been trying to get my house prettified and rearranged because I'm offering a free class to TNW members. We'll meet in my living room once a month for "QUERY, SYNOPSIS AND PROPOSAL" for any who wish to attend. I'm such a gimp these days that I've had to do all the preparations in tiny steps...what Jackie calls my "Swiss cheese method." (Just keep punching holes in the slice and pretty soon all the cheese [chore] is gone.)
Now isn't MISER an appropriate name for a club treasurer? He took the financial reins form Dale Whisman who was our good treasurer for years. Dale wants to spend more time on acting and being an agent for actors and speakers. He will get you a job if you register with his agency. ROMANCE IN THE WIND
READING FOR PLEASURE I've just finished reading FOR BETTER OR HEARSE by Laura Surham aka Laura Weatherly... a kind of a chick lit mystery. I found it amusing and it held my interest. Apparently if is part of a series called "An Annabelle Archer Mystery" from Avon. If you like "cozy" mysteries as my pal Jackie calls them, you might like this book. FOXY HENS STILL SIGNING
We're also going to spend the day signing and talking to fans at the Border Queen Book Festival at the Asbury Complex near Comanche, Oklahoma. That is near the Texas border. The affair is free, I understand. If you want to drive up from Texas take Highway 81 and it leads you straight north to Comanche if you are coming from the Ft. Worth area. Our pal Romney Nesbitt is going with us to keep order at our table. Rom is also working on a book for AWOC, I understand. She said, "Writing is hard!" and Jackie and I nodded and smiled. MY LOVELY OLD GARAGE
For a small fortune my lovely handyman, Joe Casey, took on the job of making the old garage once again sturdy. His workers also cleaned it up inside. And yes, that is the same Joe Casey who appears, with his wife's permission, in CHIK~LIT FOR FOXY HENS. My garage front now looks like a Mondrian abstract painting in light gray, dark gray, tan and bright white. I love it. Joe is still happily married and I'm still respectful of his wife. And she still allows me to use his name. I don't know how I'd get along without that old boy and his workers. SO I GUESS THAT BRINGS UP SEX And no, none. What has happened to "The Unit" on TV? I know there has been a writer's strike but couldnt they have shown reruns? My big Sgt Major and his madly adventurous group of men have disappeared from Tuesday. I'm sick that he is gone. Will he be back? Im reduced to watching him sell insurance on commercial interruptions for other shows but that is not enough to satisfy me. ABOUT LOVE I've written a short story about how I fell in love with Ray Fielding. I sent it to a new magazine called "Love Stories Magazine." If they buy the story I will let you know. I sent a copy of the story to my stepdaughter, Suzy Fielding Bell, who now lives near Ft. Worth. I thought she'd enjoy reading about my first meeting with her Dad. She called me yesterday. Even though Ray had three other wives after we parted, Suzy and I have continued to think of ourselves as Mother and Daughter. Suzy looks a lot like her Dad. Here is our picture taken one Saturday morning, a Valentines day, in Manila.
Yep, that's a heart I painted on my face to celebrate taking the kids to lunch and a movie. Sorry it is not in color. I drew it with dark green and colored in with red so it would match the dress I was wearing. I guess you could say I have been a bit strange all my life? NEXT MONTH See you soon. Hope I have good news to report... or at least something wierd. I send love to all my subscribers. Peggy | ||
